This is a collaborative post but my authentic perspective is represented throughout the piece.
Everyone has their own unique style and how they think a home should be designed. There are homes that have a quirky design, some that are classy, and some have a simplistic aesthetic. How someone chooses to style their home, all depends on the look that is trying to be achieved. But for the sake of this post, we're going to talk about luxury interiors and how you can set up your home in style while on a budget. Typically, people think the word "budget" is synonymous for cheap but that is so untrue. It can be a challenge to find the balance between a home looking luxurious through interior design features without going over the top! In order to achieve the perfect balance of luxury on a budget, you have to combine class mixed with simplicity combined with colors which will tie it all together. Here are some tips to help you with that:
The Use Of Accessories
If you think about being luxurious, you might think about big and bold, but it's not necessarily the big bold features of the house that make it look luxurious, it's the accessories you place around the home that really stand out. For example, decorative hand towels can look so elegant as a feature for a bathroom, alongside some luxurious candles and perhaps a hanging indoor plant. Coupled with fresh decor, it really is as simple as that to make a room ooze luxury. Features such as vases, floor length lamps, and even simple candles can give that luxury vibe that you're looking for. One trend at the moment is the use faux fur which has always been a classic, from rugs to throws they make such an impact without being too overpowering. I have a faux fur rug and just by adding it to my bedroom it really elevates the design of my room.
Sometimes simplicity is key, especially when it comes to luxury. This stems back to the comment we made about luxurious homes sometimes being a little too over the top in terms of decor and the accessories. Rather than overloading a room consider sticking to soft features and only using what's needed in the room. You can still have accessories such as fur and floor length lamps, but limit the amount of items to not only give that classic feel, but to also maximize the space in a room. The more open and bright a large room seems, the more elegant it will be. I like to feel that "less is best" and sometimes too much stuff can really take away from the ambiance of the space.
Tie It Together With Colors
Finally, you need to be able to tie your look together with colors, and yes, colors are good! Some prefer to stick to neutral colors when going for a luxurious look, but experts are saying colors such as bold blues and dark greens are in this year, and when paired right with the decor it can look so elegant. Be sure to mix and match and not combine too much color in one space - you will want to break it up so that it gives off a cohesive look. Even painting an accent wall and quickly make a dull space into a vibrant one.
Get creative and think outside the box when it comes to adding a luxury vibe to your home!
